~~2 months later~~
"You guys! I'm going out!" Charlamane yelled up the stairs as she ran to get the door, knowing full well who was behind the knocking. She was slightly pink in the cheeks from running as she carelessly flung open the door. The tall blonde that she had met 2 months ago still stunned her with his good looks. She had to blink twice to make sure she wasn't dreaming. "Hey, Nickers. You ready to go?" she asked playfully. He obviously was, wearing a pair of baggy khakis and white wife beater under a button front, green shirt. His hair was hanging at its sides normally, but still looked unbelievably perfect.
"Yeah," he said and took her hand unconsciously in his own.
"Awww. Look at Lil' Charm and her Nickers," Tazia said from the top of the stairs and made gagging noises as she descended them.
"Leave them be, Tazia. Have fun!" Countess smiled as she pushed her sister in the kitchen.
Charm rolled her eyes. "Don't mind them. They both had a little too much to drink today," she shut the door behind herself as they began their walk to their spot.
"They drink?" Nick asked her, surprised, as he led her through her yard and past the gate at the fence.
"Kool-Aid. It has weird effects on our systems, I guess. Neither of them drink alcohol and I couldn't even if I wanted to," she added
"I never have asked you how old you are," Nick realized and stopped walking. He took Charm's other hand and held them both out to her sides so he could get a good look at her. "Let me guess," he said and took the opportunity to admire how she looked that evening. She was in a green, slip dress that had a lace trim at the hem. Her dark hair was pulled up in a ponytail with wisps around her face. She had a shawl around her shoulders that was sort of an off white color. Her cheeks were still pink from when she ran down her staircase, and lips were that same shade of natural pink. "17?"
"Close. I'm 18 in your years, but I'm 3,547 in my years," she said and watched his eyes widen. "What?" she asked innocently and shrugged, releasing one of his hands so they could resume they walk to their spot.
The girls had a house on about 2 square miles of land. It was so they could practice their magic easily and not harm anyone or anything. There were fields and small forests scattered and a rather large, clear water pond all in the thick of it. Since their first meeting, Charm has brought Nick out to that pond almost everyday, just so they can talk. Mainly, he asks her questions about herself and she answers them, but she has asked him about himself. She already knows the major things, about his family, his friends and his career, which just happens to be performing as a Backstreet Boy. Nick was surprised she had never heard of them, but she told him that it was kinda hard to get into anything when you don't have anyone to talk and gossip to. Since the day she found out about him, he's basically become that person she was missing... for 3,547 years.
They reached the pond in silence just as the sun was beginning to set. Charm went over to a crate that was near the dock and pulled out the blanket that they always sat on. Nick took two corners, as did she, and together they laid it out on the ground. Charm sat down first, and let her legs lay out in front. She patted her lap and Nick sat down and laid his head on her thighs.
"Comfy?" she asked with a smirk.
"Very," he said and she played his hair effortlessly. Nick closed his eyes and just enjoyed the feeling of being somewhere where he didn't have to worry about being recognized and that he was in the company of someone who's company he actually enjoyed.
"I always wanted to be a blonde," Charm said and watched a smile curl on the ends of his lips. "But then again, I wouldn't wanna be so stupid, like some blondes I know."
"Your sister is blonde."
"So are you," she giggled when he raised an eyebrow.
"Are you saying I'm stupid?" Nick sat up and looked at her with a fake shock expression clearly etched on his face.
Charm pushed Nick's shoulder. "You are such a goof," she shook her head as he pretended it hurt. "But truthfully, I wanted to be blonde when I was younger. Maybe I'll have Tazia change the color."
"Don't," Nick said a little over anxiously.
"Why not? You don't think I would look good as a blonde?" she sat up straighter and stuck her nose in the air like a model.
"No, you'd probably look good anyway," Nick said and reached behind Charm's head to take out her ponytail. Her hair cascaded down to her shoulders and he ran his fingers through it, admiring it. "I like you just like this," he said quietly.
Ever so slowly, Nick leaned in towards Charm's lips. He was still holding her head in one hand and felt her body tremble. Nick stopped and searched her violet eyes for an answer. He thought she liked him like that, but he guessed he was wrong so he backed away and laid back down, his hands behind his head.
"Nick..." Charm sat motionless and her bottom lip shook slightly as she spoke. "I do like you like that."
"Yeah, well you sure know how to show it," he said coldly and noticed she started to rock back and forth.
"You wouldn't understand."
"What's there to understand, Charm?" he sat up and held her cheek in his palm. He saw her normal vibrant eyes clouded over with tears ready to flow like a broken dam. "What's wrong?" when he got no answer but a stifled sob, Nick pulled her into his lap and held her like a child. "Charm," he whispered in her ear. "What's wrong, Charlamane?" he rocked her back and forth and rubbed her back gently.
"I'm scared," Charm confessed airily.
"What are you scared of, hun?" Nick cupped her face in both of his hands. "What's there to be afraid of?" he looked deeper into her eyes and he wasn't sure how, but he knew the answer. Charm looked down and choked back another sob, as a tear slipped down her cheek. Nick wiped it away with his thumb and then brushed away some stray wisps of hair that had been blown in her face.
"You can't tell me that you never..." he began to say but Charm pushed her way out of his grasp and sat on the other corner of the blanket with her back to him. Nick moved towards her slowly. He gently placed his hands on her shoulders and massaged them slowly without realizing it. "It's nothing to be scared or ashamed of."
"When you get to be my age, you'll think differently," Charm sniffed and wiped another tear that had fallen from her eyes.
"I won't get to be your age," Nick said softly and it was the first time either of them had thought about it. "You're immortal, right?" She nodded. "What's it like?" Nick asked trying to change the subject.
"It's... I would say great but then... it kinda sucks in its own way. I'll make friends and they end up dying on me sooner or later. Sometimes I wish I was mortal, but then again, I wouldn't give up this for the world," she took Nick's hands from her shoulders and wrapped them around her stomach like a blanket. "Thank you."
"For what?" he said as Charm leaned back comfortably on his chest.
"For understanding."
The two of them sat together
in silence as the moon came into existence in a sea a bright stars, giving
everything that lay below it a pale, and innocent glow. That's exactly
what the scene was. Innocent. For the time being, that's all it was meant
to be.
"Why do you pester them, Tazia?" Countess said as she and her sister went into the large kitchen and Tazia hopped up on the counter. "They are so cute."
"And so stupid. I mean... They've been seeing each other for 2 months, right?" Countess nodded. "They refuse to call it dating, and they say its nothing more than some platonic thing. Why don't they just wake up and smell the coffee?"
"Huh?"
"Never mind. They should just hook up already. Even you bagged a man before Charm," Tazia threw her hands up in the air in frustration. The telephone rang next to her on the wall as she did, and Tazia picked it up with ease. "Yellow, Orange, and Red. Talk if you're not a sped."
"Nark! Ummm... Yeah, Uh... Hello? Ehhh..."
"AJ, please," Tazia rolled her eyes at her boyfriends dumb noises. "You called, master?"
"Damn. We're not even in bed yet and you're calling me 'master'? I'm pretty damn fly," AJ said cockily, and normally I might add.
"Not even for a white guy."
"Whatever."
"Cher, I don't wanna talk to you, right now. Now put AJ back on the damn phone."
"Yeah, sure Dionne," AJ said in his last effort at being completely 'Clueless'. "So what's up, Sexy?"
"Besides yourself?" Tazia said in her sexiest voice and heightened AJ sense of hearing when she said it. He was silent for a second on the other line. "AJ-baby?" she said in that deep and throaty voice again.
"Umm... I, uh..." Tazia giggled at his loss for words. "You have no idea what kind of affect you have on me."
"Oh, yes I do. Believe me."
"So, I was thinking we could go out tonight. Hit a club or something."
"I'm up for it, and I already know you're 'up', so sure," she could almost hear his jaw dropping. "Give me 30 minutes, K?"
"Ok," AJ said almost not able to say that much.
"All right. C-ya later, AJ-baby," Tazia said being sure to leave him wanting more on their date, and with that she hung up.
"You are so bad," Countess shook her head.
"I know," Tazia grinned evilly before heading upstairs to prepare herself.
Someone knocked on the door and Countess groaned. "Charm probably wants something," she muttered as she got up and headed for the source of the knocking. She almost levitated to the ceiling when she saw Brian standing before her. "Hi," she opened the door wider to let him in. "What's up?"
"I just wanted to see you. Maybe get you to watch a couple of movies with me," Brian held the bag that he had behind his back to his side so it was in view.
"Sounds great. You know where the TV and stuff is, just let me go up and change," Countess instructed as she ran up her stairs. Brian walked into the living room area and slipped a movie in the VCR. They had done this 3 times before since they met, each time falling asleep together on the couch.
"Ready!" Countess squealed as she hopped over the couch in her pajamas. "I'm prepared this time," she giggled as Brian stared at her. She was wearing a light purple tank top with satin trim with matching shorts. "What?"
"You look cute," he said but that was only the half of what he was thinking.
"C'mere," she held out her arms to him and he turned off the lights before laying down in them. "You look cute, always," she said and played with his hair, not really paying attention to the movie.
Brian turned over and looked into her light blue eyes. He saw the flecks of gold in them prancing about. Her face just seemed so elated. "Why are you so happy?"
"Because I'm with you," she nuzzled her nose against his. She noticed his smile wasn't as large as hers. "What's wrong?" she asked him confused. Brian sat up put his head in his hands.
He sat speechless and Countess felt helpless. Desperate, she read his thoughts. She gasped when she found out the truth. He knows, or at least suspects. "Brian, I have to tell you something. I don't know if it will make things better or worse... but there's something I've sorta been keeping from you," she hesitated.
He looked at her with wondering eyes. This secret had been eating him out on the inside, and he didn't know what it was. He just knew that it was important, and why she kept it from him was a mystery.
Countess sighed. "Remember when we were watching TV last week after coming home from dinner, and that show about those 3 sisters, that are witches was on, and you said that they reminded you of me and my sisters 'cause we live in a big, old house all by ourselves too?" Brian nodded. "Well, remember how I told you that it was a silly idea?" Countess got up and started to pace the floor. "Well... the thought of 3 sisters, that are witches, living in a big, old house, isn't such a crazy idea after all," she winced at her own words.
"What?" he nearly choked. "What do you mean?"
"I mean, Contazia, Charlamane, and I are..."
"3 sisters?" she nodded. "Living in a big, old house, all by yourselves?" Countess nodded again. "And you're-"
"We prefer the term, Sorceresses," she interrupted.
Brian stood up and almost fell back down. "You're kidding me, right?" he said and took her hands.
"Sometimes I wish I was, but no. It's the truth. That's the big secret. I'm sorry for lying to you."
"You didn't lie to me. I never asked," he shrugged. "It's not exactly a second date question, ya know?"
Countess giggled. "Yeah, I guess," she said as he pulled her back onto the couch and this time she laid in front of him. He began playing with her hair like she had done to him. "Aren't you gonna ask me anything?"
"I will, but Jim Carey is on," he shushed her.
"Are you saying he's more important than me?" Countess turned to look in Brian's eyes. She wrapped her arms around his body.
"Never," he whispered and nuzzled his nose against hers. His lips accidentally brushed hers and she held his face next to hers as she pressed her lips harder against his. She broke away from his mouth and saw the surprise on his face. "Ummm..."
"Yeah," she agreed and he leaned in and kissed her again. Brian moaned slightly and Countess giggled as she let her tongue and his intertwine. There was so much pent up sexual energy between the two that they didn't notice when they began to rise off of the couch.
"Tessa, we're..." Brian glanced at his new surroundings which consisted of the ceiling.
"Oh, shit!" she yelped and they fell back onto the couch.
"You can fly?!" he shrieked once they were back on solid... furnishings.
"Uh-huh. That's never happened before," she smiled and kissed his lips lightly. "Sorry."
"What for? That was probably the best kiss of my life," he laughed and she sat up on his stomach. "Can we do it again?" he asked and sat up too, so she was now straddling his lap.
Countess licked her lips and snaked her arms around his neck. "I don't see why-" she said and was interrupted by his lips on hers. She ran her fingers through his dirty blonde hair and enjoyed the feeling or being wrapped up in his arms alone... well, they weren't alone for long.
"Countess, what do you think of this outfi-OH my!" Tazia smirked. "I can come for clothes advice at another time."
"You look fine, Tazia," her sister said, without looking and barely separating from Brian's lips.
"Gee thanks," Tazia laughed and was about to go back upstairs when there was a knock on the door. "He's on time. That's weird," Tazia thought as she opened the door. "Wow. You look..." for once Tazia was speechless. "Wow."
"Thanks," AJ was just as speech impaired. "You look..." AJ looked her up and down not trying to hide the fact that he was.
Tazia blushed under his heavy gaze. She was wearing a tight, deep red, strapless dress, that hugged every curve of her body mercifully. AJ was decked in a pair of black, baggy pants, a red tank, and a black button down shirt over that, which he left unbuttoned of course. His hair was all black and he had a pair of light tinted, black framed sunglasses on.
"Uhh... you wanna go?" she asked and grabbed her purse.
"Can't we stay here and do some other activities?" he raised his eyebrows.
"Maybe later," she said and pushed him out of the doorway and outside.
"You said that the first time I met you. Hasn't later come yet?" he whined and pulled her body close in front of his own as they walked to his truck.
"Give it time, Baby," Tazia cooed and turned to face him when they reached his extremely clean vehicle, which she leaned against.
"I can't hold back much longer. Do you know how bad you got to me over the phone?" he grazed her neck with his lips and held each of her hands back against the passenger door.
"Don't start, please. We haven't even left the house yet," Tazia moaned her words and let her arms encircle his body and pull him closer. Her breathing quickened as he sucked lightly on her neck and then brought his lips up to hers.
"For what I have in mind, we don't need to leave the house for," he whispered and covered her mouth with his own.
There was no protest from Tazia as his hands wandered down her waist and settled on her hips. She began to feel lightheaded as AJ probed her mouth with his tongue and rubbed her body with his own and his hands. His touch was delicate yet fierce in a way she had never experienced before.
"AJ-baby," she breathed recklessly.
"Yeah?" he echoed and then moved down her neck again and to her shoulders.
"We should stop and get going," she almost couldn't bring herself to say it.
"I want you, Contazia," AJ held her face in his hands kissed her lips gingerly. "I don't know if I can stop."
She wasn't even using her magic and she was having this kind of effect on him.
"But Baby-"
"Shhh," he shushed her with his lips. "I just... I can't... " he said in between small passionate kisses. "I want you so bad I can taste you," he admitted and kissed her forcefully so she would know just how true his last statement was. Tazia could feel the heat rise through her body and returned the kisses intensely.
"Whoa," she said when they broke apart, only for air.
"Maybe we should go," he said and looked into her blazing green eyes that were slightly glazed over. All she could do was nod, and it made AJ laugh. He opened the car door they had been leaning on for her and helped her into his truck. Once he was in the drivers seat they backed out and shot down the road for downtown Orlando and a good time. AJ couldn't wait to see this girl's moves on the dance floor. From what he had seen of her so far, he was going to enjoy it.
Immensely.
