Chapter 1 Charmed, I'm Sure...

"Damnit. Why now? Why does this have to happen now?" Charlamane asked herself as she walked the streets of down town Orlando. She could feel the energy boiling up inside of her like a furnace ready to blow. Quickly, Charlamane turned down an empty alley and looked out both ways, making sure the coast was clear. She muttered a few words to herself and felt the jolts of electricity spark off of her fingers. Directing the sheer energy at a pole, her violet eyes danced with opal hues as the power surged through her body. Once all of it was dispersed, she smacked her palms together to get rid of that tingly feeling.

Charlamane giggled to herself. "No harm done," she said as she exited back onto the street. She traveled a couple blocks further to a rather odd store. One she automatically recognized as her own. The sign out front read, "OFf LImitS... everything and anything you're looking for."

The bell on the door rang as she entered carelessly and walked straight into the back room.

"Guys, it happened again," Charlamane said as she flopped down on the couch next to her eldest sister, Contessa.

Contessa reached out a hand and held it in front of Charlamane's forehead. After a second, a wave of heat flooded her body. "Charm, you feel like you're on fire, hun," she jerked her hand back quickly and shook the feeling off. "Go make yourself a cold shower or something," Contessa suggested as she snuggled deeper into the couch.

"I will. Thanks Countess... Where's Tazia?"

"She went to the store mumbling and complaining about being out of oils."

"What kind of oils?" Charm raised an eyebrow. Her sister, Contazia, has quite a... history.

"I don't know! The kind for cooking, massaging, brewing... she didn't tell me."

"Well, this is Tazia we're talking about here. Knowing her, she's probably picking up some flavored oils for her next experiment," she giggled and Countess looked at her funny.

 "Huh?"

 "Never mind. Where's the remote?"

Countess pointed to it across the room. Charm cleared her throat hinting at something and her sister groaned. "So I'm supposed to get that for you because your too damn lazy?"

"But I'm in sooo much pain right now," Charm even coughed for the added effect.

"Fine," Countess held out her hand for the remote and it glided across the room and into her grasp. Charm went to grab for it but Countess held it out of her sisters reach. "Aren't you supposed to be taking that shower?" she laughed at Charm's disgruntled face and flicked on the TV.

"Yeah, yeah. You know you can't boss me around just because you're older. I'm 3,547 years old."

"And I'm 5,199. So you have 1,652 years to catch on me before you can start talking back."

"Whatever, Contessa," Charm said emphasizing her sisters "other" name. She stood up a stretched. Charm walked back through the store of odds and ends and outside onto the street. After checking to see if anyone was looking she said...

Power of 1
I rise like the sun
Fire on my skin
Ignites within
I call upon the clouds to tumble and turn
Feel the flame from which I burn
Break down your precious gates
and let the rain fall across my face

As soon as the words left her mouth, the sky darkened and a steady, soft beaded rain began to fall. Charm could feel her skin cool and sizzle as it dampened. She stayed out on the street for a few minutes watching various people open their umbrellas and look quizzically at the sky. Charm smiled to herself. She walked back in the store and noticed it was empty, so she locked up the door and turned over the "closed" sign. Charm sighed and snapped her fingers once. The rain outside stopped.

She was about to go and join Countess when she sensed a presence... and an unhappy one at that.

 "CHARM YOU LITTLE BRAT!!"

"Good day to you to, Tazia," she laughed and walked to the magazine rack they had in the corner.

"It was you, wasn't it?" the voice asked in a nicer tone. "That little storm a couple seconds ago?"

"Yeah, sorry if you got caught in it," Charm found a magazine that seemed interesting and flipped through it by waving her hand.

"Do you know what a humid rainfall does to my hair?" Contazia, the voices body finally appeared, shopping bag in hand.

"Quit your belly-aching. Just go blow dry it or something... or do you want me to dry it for you?" Charm grinned evilly and waved a small gale wind in her sister's direction. "All better?" she giggled at Tazia's wind blown hair.

"Gee, thanks," she smirked. "Now why did you make it rain?"

"Cause it happened again. That burning sensation I get, and then all of a sudden I start sparking off. I have no idea what its from."

"Hmmm... you know I could make you a potion for that, I think."

"No! I am not going through with one of your half brained ideas." Charm turned quickly and her wet hair almost splattered in Tazia's face.

"Ewww. You're all wet. Do something about that, why dont'cha?"

"Whatever," Charm spun her finger around once in a circle and changed from wet to dry in an instant.

 "Show off," Tazia thought.

"True, but ya still love me, sister," Charm thought back.

"Older sister, and don't you forget it."

"And I'm older than the both of you, now will you two just shut up and come back here. That's not a question. That's an order." Countess broke into their telepathic conversation.

Charm and Tazia laughed and joined their other sibling in the back room, in front of the TV. Just another day in the life of a witch.

"Ah, excuse me. If you are going to narrate this story, could you get something straight? We prefer the term 'sorceress'."

Uh... sorry, Charlamane. Just another day in the life of a sorceress.

"CHARM! Where's my sandalwood oil? I just made it yesterday!" Tazia yelled as she literally flew through the house trying to find her needed ingredients.

"How the hell would I know? I stay out of your office," Charm thought so her sister could hear her and she wouldn't have to yell. "Why would you need sandalwood oil anyway? That's only used when..." Charm spoke out loud to he other sister who was behind her meditating. "Countess, Tazia is trying to make a love potion... again."

Countess made herself appear in front of Tazia just as she was about to bound into her office. "You interrupted my meditating, now answer me this. What the hell are you trying to accomplish here?

"Oh, Countess," Tazia pushed passed her floating sister and went into her room, or as the girls called it, her office. "You wouldn't understand. I'm just making a little somethin', somethin', if ya know what I'm saying," Tazia nudged Countess's crossed legs. She was of course, floating in mid-air, indian style.

"Actually, I don't know what you're saying, and frankly, I don't care," she disappeared and resumed her position on the floor in her circle.

"Fine then," Tazia huffed and closed her bedroom door behind herself, bottle in hand. "Now, let's see what we can whip up. Shall we?" she asked her cat Neffertiti, who was rubbing against her legs.

Tazia had the wildest taste out of the three girls, and her room, appearance, and even her magic abilities reflected that. The first thing you notice when you step into Tazia's room is her bed. It was extremely large and made of solid redwood with rose designs carved on the posts and head boards. Her sheets were red satin and her comforter was red velvet. Both deep and dark, almost the color of blood, but not gothic to the extreme. Her room was carpeted with a lush rug that was a crimson red and the walls were painted a similar color, but a bit lighter. Candles were scattered by the hundreds, all being ones that would help her in one way or another. And most importantly, one whole wall was covered by ebony shelves, which held bottles upon bottles of exotic oils, potions and anything else that would help her in her practice. All of which, she concocted herself. These ranged from things that would make you be able to taste anything your heart desired to strong aphrodisiacs that would make any person go into sexual frenzy. If a stranger had come into this place without knowing what Tazia was about, they would think she was some sort of kinky, exotic, freak. Actually, in some ways, that wasn't too far from the truth.

Tazia was accepted as the one with the powers over the senses. Sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch. If she wanted to, she could hear, smell, and see things that not even the most highly trained animal on Earth could sense. Her powers could be used over any being, sending them into either a sensual overdrive or just the opposite. She of course, like the other 3 could do normal things such as telepathy and becoming invisible, but since her powers controlled people, she had abilities which she sometimes used for purposes that the moderators thought were less than important. And considering that she was the sexy, sultry one of the bunch she enjoyed using them for things having to do with guys, her favorite subject.

When outside of home, Tazia goes by her full name of Contazia. Which her few, human friends shortened to Zia. She's tall, at 5'8'', but filled out perfectly to the eyes of every man. She has dark, shiny, brown hair with subtle hints of dark red that falls to her waist with light curls on the ends. Tazia's eyes are a bright green color, and when she meets her new "subjects", there a little silver flecks that just leap out, seemingly at her prey. She is well tanned, has long legs, and lips that make a perfect cupids arrow. Her curvy body seems to lure men in easily all by itself, but then she has her "tasteful" wardrobe that just accentuates it all the more. Guys don't stand a fighting chance, but then again, not many fight it.

Charm sighed and turned off the TV. "I might as well go do something constructive," she shrugged and headed up the twisted staircase to her room.

Charm's room was a bit more subtle than Tazia's. It was more earth oriented. All four of her walls were painted light blue with a cloud pattern around the border. Now, Charm's ceiling, was a force not to be reckoned with. It was her own creation, with real clouds and sunshine that filtered around. When she wanted to, it was a storm overcast. This was helpful so she could practice her craft. She never worried about things getting wet because she could dry them instantly. The floor in Charm's room was a shag green carpet, that was a soft as real grass. Just without the dirt. Her furniture was all wood and her bed was massive. It was like a living tree in her room with a canopy of leaves and vines. If you were to take an enormous branch and hollow it out for a bed, then fill that with water and put a thin covering over the water, you would have Charm's bed, in a nut shell.

Charm was a master of all of the elements. She has control over fire, earth, wind, and water. She can make a fire with her fingers and make it rain on whim. Along with these powers she has the ability to change shape. Most know of this as being a shape shifter. She shares the power of levitation and telepathy with her two sisters, along with the art of being invisible. Lately, Charm's powers have been acting up a little, causing a few problems. More so, each day they have gotten worse. A couple weeks ago she accidentally fried a car outside of Ling Lu's Chinese Restaurant. She didn't get caught, but was given a couple of weird stares as she walked away from the scene and her hands were red and... smoking?

Though she has the power to shape shift, Charm doesn't use it often. She likes being her normal 5'6'', 115 pound self. Her hair is jet black with a blue tint that is very obvious in daylight. Her eyes are light purple and when she's emotional they take on a white opal hue. Charm's face looks very angelic, and its often hard to tell when she's not happy because he face never displays it. She's not as tanned or as curvy as her sister, but then again, Tazia is 1,022 years older than her. She is, however, as beautiful as her sister, just not as mature looking. And she is far from being as experienced as Tazia, but no one is as experienced as her anyway. Unless you count Aphrodite, I think Tazia has just about everyone else beat. Charm doesn't consider herself much of a vixen anyway. She's just normal 'ol Charm. Charlamane to some, and Charli to even more, but just plain 'ol Charm.

Countess yawned from her place on the floor. She was bored. Sure she focused her power when she meditated, but it was boring after a while. She thought about it for a second and then she was in her room. "Ahh, much better." she smiled to herself and climbed under her yellow sheets. Contessa or Tessa, as she is known by humans, has a room that equips her with all that she needs for her practices. She has purple candles everywhere and they stay lit 24 hours a day. She has her bed, which is large and covered in yellow sheets made of silk. The canopy over her bed is see through and is raised from the ceiling. Everything is very spacious, and very airy and has a angelic feel. Out of all three of them, Countess is the closest to Divinity, which would give her the status of "Goddess". Everything she does is just another step to get her closer to achieving that goal. Her room is in the shape of a circle, and her walls are yellow as a sign of her intellect and mental powers.

Countess sat in her bed and looked down at herself. Her tiny 5'2" frame barley filled the huge bed, which she occupied. She lay back down roughly and he blonde, almost white, hair spread out perfectly even on the pillows. The only way you could tell it was hair and not the pastel, silk case, was by finding the streaks of lavender that were lost among the pale locks. Countess closed her light, blue eyes and breathed in slowly. She had has always felt like a part of her was missing, and as far as she knew the only was to fill this void was to become every witches fantasy. A Goddess.

Countess rolled over and propped herself up on one elbow. She wished secretly to herself that she wasn't a witch, so she wouldn't feel this way all the time. No one seemed to be of any help or seemed to understand. Not even her sister's could stop her from feeling this way. She unknowingly began to bite her bottom lip. Countess sat up in bed and brought her knees to her chest. She muttered a few words to herself and had become so used to the sensation, that she didn't feel it as she began to rise off of the bed into the air.
